With Newsome, that means Rich Rod has secured Michigan's sixth commitment for 2009, and the third player rated in the Top 50 nationally by Rivals.com. Newsome threw for 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns while running for 500 yards and tallied 11 scores his junior year with a likely outstanding senior campaign still looming ahead. So hey Sparty fans, so much for your little fantasy that the U-M football program under the Rich Rodriguez tutelage would start heading downward in the toilet. Your "fantasy" is OVER WITH, baby! And as far as Sparty skipper Mark Dantonio is concerned -- with his "We ARE Michigan State" chip on his shoulder when it comes to Michigan -- I say he sure as Hell ain't going to move the meter much at all in "closing the gap" against the hated Wolverines. The win streak goes to 7 in a row and 31 out of 39 come October 25 in A2. And that will drive the GREEN BELLIES nuts! |
