The Constitution Still Matters |

Since at least the dawn of
cable T.V., the lazy ass complicit corporate media has dropped the ball willfully - in favor of selling more
empty and souless commercial time - when it comes to explaining any
news story in depth. One example is that they have consistently failed to mention that
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 - one of the new post-9-11 laws
currently in dispute in our nation's court system - has a clause in it
that applies directly to United States citizens.
Here is that clause in the MCA of 2006:

No prisoner at Gitmo has ever had an allegiance or duty to the United
States to breach. That section of the MCA of 2006 applies directly to
We the People and sets up a kangaroo court system allowing President of
the United States and/or the Secretary of Defense to imprison U.S.
citizens as a threat to national security for any ambiguous reason (see
above) and to try them in military tribunals without regular
Constitutional legal protections.
Here is a portion of Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution that
outlaws the removal of Habeas Corpus protection from U.S. citizens -
and in turn - makes un-Constitutional the Military Commissions Act of
2006 and the military tribunal kangaroo courts it covets:
Section 9.
The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended,
unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may
require it.
Al Qaeda is not invading the United States and they are not
fomenting a rebellion among the U.S. citizenry. All of you thumbsuckers
out there need to realize that your being bamboozled through fear and
outright carnival barking. The MCA of 2006 and Patriot Acts I and II
don't do a thing to protect you, your family, or you neighbors
from Muslim Terrorists.
In addition, the deeper legalese written into these un-Constitutional
laws shows that, without a doubt, our government leaders on both sides
of the aisle are working to piecemeal into law a Big Brother police
state that they can swing into action when the next "national security"
emergency occurs.
The stuff going on down at Gitmo has a hell of a lot more to it than
any horsemanure about "enemy combatants" and the War on Terror. It has
everything to do the the future of the United States legal system in
relation to all its citizens.
Yesterday's ruling was correct. The Supreme Court held a renegade White
House and a bootlicking, shortsighted Congress in check. All of which
restores a little of my faith in all things good about the American
Republic and the Constitution that spawned it.
God knows I need all of that I can get the last eight years.
